Undergraduate Admissions: Step-by-Step Guide

Each academic program at Laurentian has required and/or recommended secondary school courses to be considered for admission.

Visit our undergraduate program pages for program descriptions and admission requirements for Ontario high school students. Be sure to also check for any supplemental documentation required for your program.

To be admitted to an Ontario university, you must apply online through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) at

  • Ontario secondary school students will use the OUAC 101 application form. Students from Ontario and residing in Ontario will use the 101D form, while those with international student status will our form.
  • Secondary school students residing in Canada, but outside of Ontario, will use the OUAC 105D application form. Those with an international student status will use our form.
  • Mature student applicants residing in Canada will use the 105D application form, while those with an international student satus will use our form. In addition, Laurentian’s Office of Admissions requires you to submit a resume or CV specifying your education and work experience, as well as a letter outlining the reason(s) you are pursuing university studies.
  • Students residing in Canada and applying from a university or college will apply using the 105D form. For students residing outside of Canada, they will use the OUAC 105F application form.


Personal Identification Number (P.I.N.)
If you are currently enrolled in an Ontario secondary school, guidance counsellors will provide you with a P.I.N. (personal identification number) to access the OUAC site and application process. All other applicants will create user profiles on the OUAC 105 application form.

Once you have applied, you will receive an important email from Laurentian’s Office of Admission with information on accessing your Applicant Portal. You should receive this email within two days of submitting your application to OUAC.

Congratulations! You are now being considered for admission at Laurentian!
Once you have completed and submitted your application through OUAC, it is then sent to Laurentian’s Office of Admissions for review. While you wait, we suggest you access your account on our Applicant Portal to ensure that you are aware of any supplemental information required for your application.
What is the Applicant Portal?
The Applicant Portal is an online resource for students who have applied for admission. It allows you to interact with the Office of Admissions, to access any supplemental forms required to process your application, to apply for a spot in residence, to receive information on fees, scholarships and bursaries, and much more! Did you know you can apply for residence before you receive an offer? At Laurentian, first-year high school applicants are guaranteed a spot in a residence when they apply to University College or Single Student Residences before June 3, 2019.
You will find application information on your Applicant Portal.

You have received an offer from Laurentian! You must now confirm your selection. Your Offer of Admission will be posted in the Documents folder on your Applicant Portal. Carefully review the details and conditions of your offer. To accept your offer, visit, log into your account, and follow the instructions to accept. OUAC will send your response to our Office of Admissions.


Alternate Offers

While you’re waiting on the status of your application, you may receive an Alternate Offer from our Office of Admissions. Take the time to review the offer and learn more about the suggested program(s) by consulting our website or speaking with one of our Liaison staff. Early Conditional Offers

Applicants may receive an Early Conditional Offer of Admission in the Fall, based on their grade 11 average. Final admittance will depend upon their best six grade 12 U or M courses, successful completion of the required courses and the obtention of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
