Biography

Born and raised in Shanghai, China. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in 1987, worked as a research fellow for alma mater, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) for three years. After working 1 year for the Shanghai branch of Singapore-based Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC), came to Canada for master's program in Public Administration at Carleton University in Ottawa. In 1993, went down to New Orleans and studied Financial Economics for 5 years. After getting the PhD degree in 1998, moved back to Canada and began teaching career in University of Windsor. In summer of 1999, taught in University of Lethbridge as a visiting professor before being appointed to the tenure-track position at Laurentian University. Granted tenure in 2004, Laurentian and Sudbury become permanent home.
